LESSON OBJECTIVE:

By the end of this lesson, students will be able to list the steps of installing the computer

operating system.

Windows 2000

 

TASK ANALYSIS:

1.Review  the steps of installing  the OS              2.Prepare the Hard drive

3.Look  at cdrom                                  4. Install the OS

 

REVIEW;

Why do we have to know about installing an operating system, Installing the operating system is important because this is what the computer uses to carry out commands from the users and applications. Students must understand how  order to do troubleshooting.

 

PRESENTATION OF DEMONSTRATION:

We will review the way the Operating system is used , and how it is istalled. We will work in groups and each group will have a computer with a operating system cdrom. Each student will have a notes on the project .

 

STUDENT PRACTICE:

1.Students will practice  installing the operating system.

2 Turn the computer off.Unplug the power cord.check for a hard drive,if no harddrive,install one,plug the power cord in.Turn the computer on. List the results.

3. If harddrive is in  the computer setup drive for installing the OS..

4. Install the operating system.

 

CLOSURE/EVALUATION:

Each group will report  the results .We will now review the steps of the os install.
