Week 4 MOTHERBOARD TRAINING AND BI OS. LESSON OBJECTIVE: By the end of this lesson, students will be able to list the major components of the pc motherboard and bios.
PRESENTATION Motherboard form factors We will review the way the motherboard operates , and how it is connected to the powersupply.
TASK ANALYSIS: 1. Diagram the motherboard 2.Review the motherboard
REVIEW;
Why do we have to know about the motherboard? The motherboard is important because this is how the PC’s hardware is checked out. Students must understand the test in order to do troubleshooting.
STUDENT PRACTICE: 1. Students will practice using the motherboard by removing the memory first from the computer, then plug the computer in to the AC power .Turn the computer on. List the results. 2 Turn the computer off. Unplug the power cord. Replace the memory. Plug the power cord in. Turn the computer on. List the results. 3. Turn the computer off. Unplug the power cord. Remove the FLOPPY drive data cable plug the cord in. Turn the computer on. List the results. 4. Turn the computer off .Unplug the power cord .Replace the FLOPPY drive data cable plug the cord in. Turn the computer on. List the results.
CLOSURE/EVALUATION: Each group will report the results .We will now review the steps of the Post test.
